At least this “new breed” doesn’t have “doodle” in its name.

Hey, I know! I’ll find some random small dogs, breed a backyard litter of mutts, then find some larger breed they sort of look like and call them miniature versions of that larger breed. What could possibly go wrong?

The Alaskan Klee Kai (a unique breed intended as a miniature Husky) took over a decade of careful and sometimes controversial private breeding methods before puppies were released to the public. Even now, this miniature breed isn’t recognized by the American Kennel Club, more than 30 years after the first breeder began working with them.

Your backyard mutts are mutts. They are not a “new breed.” A new breed is rarely and for good reason established by one or more highly experienced breeders who wouldn’t dream of allowing a stranger to purchase a first generation pup. Congratulations on the very cute mutts. Please spay and neuter the parents, and perhaps yourself and your spouse for good measure.
