Hey, I know! I’ll find some random small dogs, breed a backyard litter of mutts, then find some larger breed they sort of look like and call them miniature versions of that larger breed. What could possibly go wrong?

Your backyard mutts are mutts. They are not a “new breed.” A new breed is rarely and for good reason established by one or more highly experienced breeders who wouldn’t dream of allowing a stranger to purchase a first generation pup. Congratulations on the very cute mutts. Please spay and neuter the parents, and perhaps yourself and your spouse for good measure.
